So I got an urge to make my own hook sets and ordered some cord and 1/0 hooks from Kaveman Tackle (thanks Kev).

The 1/0's will be fine for a lot of my jigs but they are too big for the smaller ones I use in the shallows around Nelson.

I probably need some size 2 maybe, and some even smaller ones for the likes of tungsten fleas.

Does anyone have any pointers for suitable strong smaller hooks? They would need eyes big enough for light assist cord too.

Cheers Vanman

I'm happy with the Kaveman 1/0 hooks on my microjigs, but have a look at livebait hooks. These come in suitable sizes, but I would want to fish them with light gear.

Alternatively, consider inline single lure hooks, the ones with the eye the "wrong" way round. Eye is large, they come in small sizes and are generally strong for their size.
