Went out after work on Wednesday, by the time I drove from Rotorua to Whakatane hit the water just before 6pm.
Short paddle out to the 12.5m mark. And bam first drop nice fat snapper.
Ended up with 6 in the bag the smallest coming in at 36cm.
Lost a monster that hit me on the drop just as the light started to fade, much speculation of kingi.

Back on dry land by 7:45pm
The old huminbird from the F-in-law worked a treat.

All caught on 5”jerk shards.
