I noticed that the last post on this local section was in early November, and with all due respect , the weather hasn't been good . However, I do feel this part of the forum is a good form of contact , so I personally would like to make a New years resolution to post more articles on here. I used to check this column every day , but I think it would be fair to say that the wheels have fallen off to some extent, so can we fizz it up a bit?
I fished the Moki 1000, in November , and so did my mate Gary Kemsley, neither of us caught a lot , & yes it was surfcasting , but Gary, who is a fishing writer ,managed to publish an article in this months Fishing NZ. Its a good read! An interesting part of the country , rugged, remote , & pauas the size of dinner plates in waist deep water ( Yeah, Right!). You never want the truth to get in the way of a good story ,so lets be having them !
lets have your stories, & its not just locals,eh, bring on some yarns , some trip reports , some innovations , you know the drill.....c'mon ?

Hi guys, been 28 months since I was out due to knee issues and operation. Finally got out at Te Awanga yesterday for the first time. 4 fat kahawai and a snapper so was pretty happy before the wind blew in. Be great to catch up on the water again 😀

Hey there all, Not been out much myself lately due to shoulder injury. Was out Te Awanga about 3 months ago and came home with 2 good snapper. Hooked a rather large thresher shark as well but after getting it up to kayak decided to cut it free!! :swear: Have now got a go pro camera for these occasions. :y: Hit the port approx month ago but was really quiet with only one small kawhai caught. Hopefully will be back out in the next few weeks now that the weather has settled. 8)
