We have a Contour 490 double kayak and are looking for recommendations of suitable trolleys. Needed for a 10 minute walk along sealed roads more than for across sand. (Moving house so no longer able to carry it the 200m down the road to the sea. ) I think it would need to be 65cm - 75cm wide to fit or kayak securely. Any recommendations much appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Jilliene
The 3 kayak trolleys we use and sell are:
NZ Kayak folding trolley
Railblaza C-Tug trolley
Wheeleez trrolley
Ranging in price from $110 to $330 depending on your budget (and what best fits your kayak).
I can measure them tomorrow to give you some idea of widths.
Cheers
Janet

Measurements are:
Folding Trolley (Frame that holds kayak): 400mm - To be honest I don't think the tyres would go the distance on sealed roads!
C-Tug Trolley (cradles that kayak sits on): 490mm
Wheeleez Trolley (Frame that holds kayak) 430mm
Our recommendation is either the CTug or Wheeleez. The CTug for price and will be sufficient for what you want to use it for but the ultimate trolley for ease of travelling over any surface is the Wheeleez. Sounds like you may have rather a heavy kayak so you may find the CTug will sink into the sand but maybe at this stage when getting to the beach you can drag down to water or carry it the shorter distance!
Hope this helps
Cheers
