Hi,

I'll be staying at Ohuka beach for the weekend (12/10 - 14/10), near Mercury Bay, and wondering if you have some recommendation launch spots and possible nice fishing grounds.

Appreciate any feedback :)

Thank you.

Hi, If it was me I would take the 15 min trip over the hill and fish Kuaotunu. Either the Blackjack or the Kuaotunu reef. Fishing in the bay (mercury) seems to get better when summer arrives.

You could launch straight off the beach and look for the bait schools. Some nice kingfish get caught in the bay over summer.

I should defer to G1's superior knowledge. He's a local whereas I'm just an occasional thief in the night.

In fact, I was probably using G1's tips when I caught my first kayak kingi down there last year...
