Sometimes when I try and type something on my MacBook, it is very laggy, as in a delay between pressing a key and the letter appearing on screen. Doesn’t seem to happen on other forums. Anyone else getting this?

Nah can't say as I am - well not while I'm typing this in - I'm also on a Macbook too - but I'll look into it - thought it might be an ad but then on the reply/post/pm pages there aren't any adverts so can't be that... :(

Try Safari/ClearHistory/all history

Sometimes the browser caches and cookies get their knickers in a twist. I've had this issue not on this site but others.

I’m using chrome too, but will try Marc’s solution next time it happens. Caches do seem to cause a few problems.

In Chrome it's

Chrome/Clear Browsing Data/ tick all three boxes and then Clear Data.

Cheers

Well that's interesting, I'm using iMac and Chrome or Safari, no worries, for me. And my iPhone too.

It is unlikely that such a problem, could be one model of Mac specific. It could be the version of Chrome I suppose.

You could check ,by logging into the forum in Safari and see if that makes a difference, and if it's OK, then Chrome could be the issue, then upgrading Chrome to the latest version might fix it.

See how you go.

Ahh yes, comes and goes, the System Admin's nightmare.

Intermittent problem = intermittent user....

But seriously, Intermittent can be a couple of things, Caches filling up etc, but then we've looked at emptying them by deleting history/data etc.

Something that can affect a Mac's performance is too little RAM, for the number of programmes open, so if one were to have, Photoshop, Illustrator, Word, Excel, Mail and a browser all open at once, with the stock RAM that came with the Mac/Macbook, then using the web might suffer when some of the other processes make demands on the RAM.

Another thing one could do is to run:

Applications/Utilities/Disk utility -select the MacBook 's hard disk at left and run First Aid (not the others) First Aid usually sorts out any minor issues, think of it like tidying up a teenager's bedroom.

This should be done periodically, just for good housekeeping.

I don't know how to give PCs an Enema, but can you try a different browser? like Mozilla? Maybe it's the Chrome...

3 votes for Chrome being the problem.
