Hello guys soon my anty and uncle are coming up from Auckland and I have just brought myself a 4 m fishing kayak so I was wondering if anyone knows were some great snapper/kingfish/trevally/John dory spots are around whatuwhiwhi that are relatively close :D or does any one know if piper can be netted from the beach?

Straight out off the beach opposite Whatuwhiwhi is a good place to start !...

Try netting for piper in the bay just to the left of Whatuwhiwhi. Used to be an old guy there MANY moons ago called Oscar who did real well netting for piper there. Use doe burley/bread to draw them out and you should see them on the surface

dory right in the shallows on high tide
micro jigs from 8-9m out
anything east of bird shit island
if there's f' all boats around out over the sand works as well

Hey bro let me know when you go out in the near future and we will meet up and go for a fish sometime I live up kaitaia ways aswell :y: pretty new to kayak fishing but keen to get out with another person bit better going out with someone then no one
