Took the Skua out for a surf the other day and tried out the new Gopro. Stoked with the results, just need to get some better mounts sorted, more Rainex on the lens and some moisture absorbance pads and should get some awesome footage

Nice break and you'd want to watch for that rock as the tide drops.
Try leaning well forward and stab paddle into wave face and pull your way through ( like Duck diving a surfboard ) or if too big and closing out on you a roll to try and stop back endo .
The play boats are great you can even cartwheel em into a wave by chopping the nose under and flicking her through sideways

Cheers

It's the bay that you look out over from Pig Out Point (end of Hobson St). That is the Te Henui River mouth at the start. Bring the Reload out some timeNakian wrote:Niiiiice.
Scratching trying to figure the loc tho....

Yes there is a few big rocks that start to show certain times of the tide. I paddle that place a lot and know where 'most' of the rocks areGBC wrote:nice video and great skills. was that a submerged rock at about the 4.30 min mark???

So much fun, as you can see it is such an awesome kayak surfing wave with the possibility of some very long rides. Can't wait till next time

Those were beautiful little waves. Would have been a lot of fun in a waveski.
