Head out from Shelly beach around the corner to the left. Go a couple of KM's, there are plenty of holes around there. That is where we got the winning Gurnard from a couple of years ago. Anchor up and fish ledgers when the tide is running. Over slack tide drop a curly tail grub to the bottom and jig up and down. worked very well. Hopefully the tide is with you and you can head out at the right times. Just don't go too far if you have to come back after a herd days fishing against the tide unless your paddle fitness is up to it.
Simple is as simple does.
