Man it been a while between drink(fishing trips) think the last one was the naki classic. After a few days of settled weather and having to work a plan was hatched to get the body back into kayaak mode. After a lateist star,t was on the water a 9.30 am the forecast was for a north east wind to pick up around lunch time. Paddled out to the 10 meter mark. Sea was a little lumpy had the stomack turning. Put out stray line and a leager rig. After a short time a couple of ky were catch one been keeped. Then the dog fish turn up. The stray line took of it feel like a big shark to start with after a short fight I sore colour. Weight just under 7 kg and measuring 68cm. Back in soon after as swell sea chop was getting big.

Everyone is a genius.

But if you judge a fish
on its ability to climb a tree.
it will live its whole life believing it is stupid.

There has been some beaut weather in Taranaki lately. Trouble is it normaly turns to custard for the weekend. I have been working up high (top of the new Base Hospital) and have had the good fortune of watching all the boats head out of the Port into a stunning looking Tasman. Sorry, did I say good fortune? I meant I've been :envy: as :swear: watching them head out. There was also a lone yakka round 9ish on friday morn....
