Bit of Sun warms the disposition so first day off had to head on out for a thrash.
Flicked the Garmin on and not sure if readings correct as not that up on it yet , but a broad reaching paddle out with a quartering sea to a point I wanted to check halfway up Ponui gave 51.35 km total for day and max speed of 13.0 km/hr with overall av of 5.0km/hr with a hard paddle back into a 15kn SE .
Alkaline Batteries didn't like the cold and she pulled the pin after 4 hrs or so.
I suppose it registered the drifts and a lot of time was spent doing just that.
Bit of a distraction from the main thrust so it got relegated to inside the cockpit pretty quick and a great day spent catching some middling Snapper with the odd better one.
Caught and released a swag and conditions were not that great, but good to know I can navigate to within 2 mtrs if required. :?:
Day passed enjoyably and even the hard slog home seemed ok .

Well rounded catch- 40-45 cm,

Everyone is a genius.

But if you judge a fish
on its ability to climb a tree.
it will live its whole life believing it is stupid.

Nice haul!! If they ever increase the limit to 10 or more looks like you'll need a bigger bag! :) ;) Well done!

Give a man a fish and feed him for a day. Teach a man to Yak fish and you won't hear from him most weekends :-P

So jealous. Landlocked for a couple of weeks under orders to get some work round the house done. Nice haul there just to make it worse.
