8) Still grinning- went out for a cruise and did the fish yer feet deal coming up with a decent Kingy off the first headland along with a few big Kahawai & Snapper to absolutely overload the new Fish Bag .
All caught in an hour or so , so pretty hectic at times with two rods going off and rearranging skills needed to the max esp. with the easterly building and a good swell up the tidal rip I was drifting targeting the Hoodlums that came to play :y:
The wind strength built and chop was up off the exposed point I chose so the drogue used and both Kingy's I hooked picked up in my new spot X.
Big 60cm KY came in first and Snaps were not around for a bit as different techniques being used -

These gave a good account of themselves and good fun then as I trailed a 7" Shad it had a few testing takes then proceeded to set out upwind at a great rate as I frantically tried to retrieve drogue and bring the bow around which isn't easy when she's blowing 15-20 Knots and you're facing down wind.
Well the little ol Saros 3000 and Berkley Diablo being put to the sword yet again with 4kg braid and 10 kg fluoro trace the backing was off and running out so a quick chase and retrieve when possible soon had him in close quarters but that may have been a mistake while it was too green and he did the ol straight up & down lugging thing that was hard to counter .
Good long drawn out battle saw me heading across the bay and the cunning buggar had a go at tangling the rudder and drogue at one stage that was quite masterful but luckily unsuccessful.
The drogue had washed off the rear deck in a swell and at an inappropriate time as he was cruising past the stern and rudder. :worried:

Got it when it finally tired with a gaff shot to pectoral fin area subdued it .
Early yet so battled back upwind to do another drift along same line and yup the exact same happened again on the same rod while I was shagging around with the bigger Twinpower that would've been more suited to these lunkers :|
Well he got the April Spool on me as I stuffed around getting everthing clear this time it spat the jig after a few hundred metres of line fizzed out a few times in all directions
Felt good -Real GOOD but no Fat lady singing this time , dang.
As I sorted out for another drift a good 55 cm Snapper came on and it was duly bought to boat as well along with a couple of his smaller Buddies.
The aft deck was starting to sit real low by now and was'nt helping confidence in awkward breaking chop so called it and headed in.

Good chocka bag full-

Got home and weighed n measured but not as big as thought initially but still 98cm and 11Kg so all good.

Everyone is a genius.

But if you judge a fish
on its ability to climb a tree.
it will live its whole life believing it is stupid.
