After completing my Mayoral duties of firing the starting gun at the Auckland marathon I decided to go for a quick fish. The road closure was a bit of an inconvenience but having competed in La Marathon De Paris, for those that don't speak French roughly translates to "The Paris Marathon" in 2009, in an unremarkable time of 4hrs 12mins I can only offer my upmost respect to my fellow runners.
Anyway back to the fishing which again was fantastic with the orange slider getting the better fish, and my haul was complete by the time I hit rough rock.
It was at this point that I bumped into Baz who thanks to his longline technique with multiple outriggers had managed to bag 5 for tea.
Still no sign of Mitch, probably, like the rest of NZ was too tired after the rugby.
Baz had launched from Taka so had a big paddle back and I hear he is expected back at the ramp on Tuesday.
So 7 in the bin, launched at 9 home by 11.30 and yet more points for The Mayor the fishing master.
Roll on the long weekend.

Nice one, I avoided NN because of the Marathon. Launched from Rothesay but only managed a couple pannies.

What depth were you doing your drifts at Luke?
The bigger the mission, the better the fishin'

I'm not sure as I don't have a FF. My fishing involves a lot of luck. I was roughly half way between the green buoys and rough rock.

To avoid the Marathon road chaos I went out at Murray’s Bay, no idea as I hadn’t been off the beach there before. Came home empty handed. I bow to you sir, you have conquered all before you once again. :)
