There is no specific kayak fishing club that I know of but would be interested to hear. This is the list of known sea kayak clubs and networks in NZ -
https://canterburyseakayak.wordpress.co ... -networks/

A network is a club without fees and often without a constitution or elected officers. The Canterbury one has only been around since 1992 so the system seems to work. They do hold monthly meetings, organised trips and an annual training weekend - all free.

You might even find something else interesting if you dig a little.

Seanmed , scroll down main page, you will find Waikato kayakers there. Not sure if they still get together, to find out send a pm to one of them.

Yep... used to be quite a strong club in the Waikato.... if memory serves me right, they would meet up at Canoe & Kayak...

Be good to get a monthly group together. Share tricks and advice. Organize club comps etc

Waikato used to have monthly meetings, was kept together for a while then faded. Seanmcd, find a like minded mate stay together, forget the group stuff.
Enjoy your fishing.
