I wondered anyone here has this model and can answer a question for me.

https://www.wavepassion.co.nz/Kayak/Fis ... ak-Package

I got the Fishmaster Elite 4 from these guys and am very happy with it, excepting that I'm 116 Kg now and I find that the 'yak is a little low in the water, OK on calm days, but, now I'm thinking a bigger one.

And they're on sale.

If anyone has this model could you please tell me the dimensions of the recess, in the bottom where a transducer will go. My Garmin has a long one :) so if the recess is too small...

Any and all comments appreciated.

(I have no relationship to Wave Passion and this model is sold elsewhere.)

That looks quite a lot like the Ocean Kayak Prowler/Trident Ultra 4.3. The weight limit is technically around 160kg, but over about 105 kg the seat tends to stay quite wet.

Thanks for that, , the specs say:

- Size:430cmL*76cmW*30cmH
- Net Weight: 32Kg
- Max Load: 250kg+

But then, that could be Marketing.

I see elsewhere that 158Kg is max cap.

I can't believe how damn cheap that is for what is effectively a copy of the Prowler Ultra 4.3 BUT as others have said if you are thinking the Fishmaster sits low in the water I'd be wanting to try the kayak in the water before parting with my money as I'd think based on the design the Fishmaster would be more buoyant than this one...

My thoughts too. Be interesting to hear if it's any good.

As someone involved with manufacturing I’m sure you could guess at some of the reasons they are so cheap.
You are too polite to mention them out loud.

Have you considered the Reef Kayaks model.? Supposed to handle larger paddlers. People I’ve spoken to with them like them a lot.
