Hi all,

I've just installed a Lowrance Hook 3x Fish finder and Transducer on my 4.3 Ocean Kayak Prowler using the scupper hole - however the unit does not seem to correctly fit in the cavity and is on a 20 degree angle towards the bow of the yak - will this be a problem? or will the sonar just effectively shoot down on an angle as opposed to straight down? I have not taken it out on the water yet due to the weather.

Had similar issues with the Hook 4 Lowrance Transducer in my 4.3, although I think the hook 3 transducer is a smaller model as no downscan.

But you would want the transducer to be shooting straight down as far as I know.
This was my solution viewtopic.php?p=240355#p240355 which was copied off a fair few other folk on this forum.

Good luck

Shooting at an angle stuffs up the depth readings. Worth some effort to get it correct.

Thanks Guys,

I took the unit out and had a lot of fun with it. I could see the fish below and ended up with a few on my boat - so thank you. Hopefully this water cools down a bit and the snapper may come back! a balmy 19.3 in the water down here - Wgtn.
