Hi All
I get chronic sea sickness and after trying everything I found Paihia bombs which are fantastic. Only problem is they have run out and said it would only be 2 months but that was 5 months ago and now still telling me that. I have one left and a whole summer of fishing planned which is impossible even if the sea is flat without them. Is there anyone on here that would be willing to sell me some even if it's just one or two but more would be awesome. I will pay anything just name your price.
Cheers

I can't help you with getting a hold of some Paihia Bombs but I also suffer from motions sickness (car, ocean, etc...) and ginger pills have worked really well for me, they're my go-to.

I too can't help with acquiring more but I too suffer from sea sickness and I've had no issues when I take Sealegs which are available at any pharmacist :y:

I understand they are a cocktail of an antihistamine, caffine and an anti nausea drug. I'm quite sure they could not be sold without a list of the drugs and their quantities. Somebody should have the packaging with the list....a registered pharmacist is accountable for what they are dispensing...Not that I am suggesting home-brewing your own bombs! Medical risks etc.

Just found this on the web..again, all care and no responsibility, I have not qualified ANYTHING!. I read also that Blockhouse Bay pharmacy make a similar product.

》The ingredients are 100mg of Caffeine (Paihia bomb white tablet) and 6mg Polaramine (Paihia bomb blue tablet). Dexchlorpheniramine (Polaramine) is an antihistamine.
On the commercial versions it says, take the white one half an hour before the blue one, once a day. I purchased No Doz tablets which are 100mg of caffeine and 6mg polar-amine, in this form they are both white tablets and available from a chemist. In the Solomon islands they did not have the brand Polaramine they had a generic brand of chlorpheniramine which I purchased hoping that they would work, and yes they did, so by this one would ascertain that its the chlorpheniramine in the polaramine that makes these tablets together work 《

yeah you will find most them pills are just antihistamines. I suffer vertigo sometimes after diving and asked my doc what could help he just prescribed me something and said its another form of antihistamine like the loraclear tabs i take for hayfever but they seem to do the trick. but i chew on raw ginger root everyday as a supplement as well

the takapuna pharmacy do a very similar product to the paihia bomber, and can courier to you quite quickly. at least they did about 18 months ago, i never got a chance to really test them, but I never found sea legs particularly effective.

Most of them are just old-school antihistamines that have a sedative effect (phenargan, polaramine etc). The kind that come with warnings about not driving after taking them. Sealegs carries a warning to avoid driving 8 hours after taking.

Ginger and peppermint are two non-sedative things to try.

The best cure for seas-sickness .... sitting under a tree.

i get seasick just looking at the water lol but not as bad on the yak as on a boat. not saying that i dont get sick on the yak as i do and its real bad as its no fun trying to paddle back while heaving your guts out.
i take two sealegs the night before a trip and then one as soon as i get up the following morning. that usually see me ok
i also have gingernut biscuits available as well. which i eat as soon as i start to feel it coming on. this settles me down for while as well.

I sometimes get queasy tying knots in rough conditions. That's about all.

Never thrown up on the kayak.
I've headed in a few times, because I've started feeling queasy.
That is when I've been anchored in choppy seas, bait fishing, for several hours and when nothing was happening with the fish to keep the mind off it.
