Hi Guys & Gals, (I say gals, because there were 5 in the last comp and more want to fish)

Start scoring the brownie points!!!

You asked for it, so here it is!!!!

Orton's Events is proud to announce the next in a series of Kayak and SUP competitions to be held throughout New Zealand over the next twelve months.

The first will be the "Ocean Kayak Gold Rush" which is being held in the Coromandel and will encompass the Coromandel Peninsula. It will also be the first round of the "NZ Kayak & SUP Fishing Nationals"

Competition dates will be Saturday the 1st & Sunday the 2nd of October 2011.

After the success of the "Seahorse Bridge to Cape" and the huge support for another event to be run along similar lines, I have spent time gathering information and meeting up with potential sponsors and have been overwhelmed with the offers I have so far received.

Ocean Kayak have come on board as the main sponsor for this event, more details to follow.

Once again Rob Fort has come to the party and thrown all his resources into this event. His artistic talents have been commissioned to make the trophy for the Nationals winner. By all accounts it will be one everyone will want.

The scoring will be done on a points based system, which will make it fair for everyone who enters. I realise you will all have lots of questions that you will want answers for and once the web site is all go, late next week, all will be revealed.

Thanks must go to Rob Fort "Kayak Adventures", Stephen Tapp "Viking Kayak" and Shamus "KayakPro" for all of the information, technical support and sheer passion they have for this sport, without it, my job would have been much more difficult, thanks guys.

Cheers

Orty

Hi all,

My apologies if there has been any confusion, but the event is called the "Coro Gold".I wrote Coromandel Gold in the first instance to make sure everyone knew where I was talking about.

I hope that clarifies things a bit for you ladies and we look forward to your entries in this competition.

Cheers

Orty

Hmm leelay does have a good point, people and the internet think Coromandel Gold and Coro Gold is the same thing... and there are the organisers of Coromandel Gold that might take offence...

Hi Guys/Gals,

As the "Coro Gold" does clash with other events, I have spoken with Rob and we have changed the name to "Coro Coast to Coast".

My apologies to all.....

Team Green Fishing Comp

Cheers
