I can't help but think that us Hawkes Bay Kayak Fishers need a crazy mid winter event to look forward to. I have organised a couple of events in past seasons , with a mixed attendance, so if theres enough interest I think we should renew old aquaintances, and get something going.
This forum has been a bit quiet, so I feel we are ready to break out a good one !
My suggestion is a fishing contest held at the Port ( all weather launching.), using really cheap rod & reels, & only 10m of line, followed by a BYO , carpark BBQ, and prize giving. Surely it can't be that hard to have a bit of fun! I'm picking a morning event , lunch time barbie , home to mow the lawns , sort of day . Well maybe forget the lawns,eh! Any other suggestions ?

I'm keen for an event like that, just give me a date and i'm coming. It would be great to see what we could catch on those combos.
