Hey there all Hawkes Bay Fishos, Having only just retired I got to head out last week for my first expedition since retiring. Since it was bloody cold I decided for a later launch time of 9am. Since the ramp and beach by the port has been closed I ended up launching on the Westshore side opposite the Fishing Club and paddling out into the bay. Travelled out to 7m depth and anchored up. First fish was a rather large Gurnard. This was followed by a selection of Spineys!!! :swear: :swear: Then another good Gurnard and a large KY. Followed by more spiney's!!! :swear: After about 2hrs decided that I had enough fish for a few good feeds and headed back. :y:

Sea was dead calm with very little swell. Very few other boats out due to everyone at work looking after the ecomony!! :) :)

Looks like a happy retirement already!

Over the past few months thats pretty much what i've been getting . 1 or 2 gurnard with a heap of spinies between. Really annoyed at the port for putting in a dumb wall just so we can't launch from breakwater beach. It puts on about 1.5km to a trip for us.
I look forward to some of your post retirement catches rex :y:
