so after the kayak meet last night my interest has been piqued by raglan harbour, seems an easy paddle across and a couple hours sat at anchor.

Anyone fancy it over the weekend?

Heading out Sunday hope to be on or loading at the wharf at 9, high hides just after 10, heading over for a gentle fish and a morning on the water (just a chill out really, been putting too much effort in recently).

Anyone welcome.

Was a quiet day, plenty of small snapper, stingrays and sharks, didn't take the chill pod as had no intention of a keeper. Was a chilled day though, just what I was after.

You need to pair up with Phil who was at the meeting last week, he is consistently getting his limit in the harbour and did again on Sunday.

Helene might have mentioned I acquired a microjig and waxwing after hearing your success at the meeting. I tried launching from Rays rest on Saturday (where all the campervans park up between Miranda and Kaiaua) which I hadn't been before. Conditions probably didn't suit the waxwing as the water is quite brown & murky until you get a couple of km out. I bagged 5 snapper after 2-3 hours fishing, didn't want to stay out there too long as I wanted to be back at the beach while the tide was in (bi walk otherwise), beautiful evening, had tea on the beach.

Nice, those waxwings are always in my pod now, snappers on softbaits or did you get the jig wet?

Did try the jig but no good on the day, was only 5m of water so might have been a bit shallow?? All fish on softbaits.
