Was just skimming through some old paddling vids when I came across this frame.

Found this piece of 'art' random people have been making with junk washed up in this tiny bay below a cliff that you can only get to by boat/kayak.

Texted this one to a mate while telling him to enjoy his day at work.

Karma's a biatch though, because I had only just made it out when my phone blew up with alerts and people telling me to GTF off the water because of the Tsunami warning.

Such a waste of perfect weather and conditions.

Cheers Snap4T. The local mafia will put me on a hit list if I tell you where the flounder can be found, but I will say the location isn't in those shots.

Hold on, there's someone knocking at the door...

Jury is still out on how it (and the nut behind the wheel) will handle a determined bigger critter. Hopefully can fiddle/grope at least a good kingi with it sometime soon. To be honest, I'm a little nervous about how it'll go when something big gets yak-side.

Take a 10L bucket out for a practice.
Drop it over the side and then manhandle, or even fiddle, it back onboard when it's full.

The new boat will seem more 'tippy' initially but will take broadside waves so much better than Kermit.

Sorry for getting off topic but HLD started it :P
Tried a bar crossing yesterday arvo and got almost to the point of no return before bottling and paddling back in as it was a little too scary (looked over the 1m they forecast when I was up close and personal with it) and the tide still had some way to go to bottom out. Went back into a safe space and threw myself in and out of the yak a zillion times, working through as many what-ifs as I could. Didn't have a bucket so used my catch bag and was amazed how far over the yak could go before going too far. Feeling much better about the yak, and with the tide having just turned, the subsequent bar crossing felt less heart attack inducing and more exhilarating. Still felt more than 1m swell out there but was a good shakedown and confidence booster.
Oh, and trying to get back on topic, albeit with a lame pic...
