How's everyone getting on? I managed a couple in the morning and stuck it out thru the rain in the afternoon for no more action.

I got second place in the kayak section with my 1.7kg jack rainbow. Scored a bunch of scotty gear for the kayak including a flag pole with a light on it.

As part of the Northland Fish and Game Team I would like to thank all that attended this comp, especially those that travelled far from places like Whakatane, Hamilton etc.
The office has received numerous phone calls, emails and even personal visits from people that attended expressing their thanks and saying how much they enjoyed the event, A very special thank you goes out to our sponsors for without their support the comp would not be what it is.
All round it has been a fantastic freshwater event and entrants were up a staggering 60% on last year. Just under 190 kgs of trout were weighed in.

I will put up photos relating to all the sections on the Northland Freshwater Fishing facebook page when I get them from the event photographer. In the meantime here's my bragging shot of the "jack" that got me first place in the kayak section (only 9 or 10 years of trying!)
Telecaster, that was me that gave you the Scotty light pole and flag from my winnings, hope it sorts your problem out mate!

Here are the results for the kayak section and kayak lucky draws

Again thanks to all that attended and hopefully we will see a few more yakers next year
Cheers Karl

1st Prize Kayak Section – Open Karl Pereira 2.32 kg

2nd Prize Kayak Section – Open Patrick Bish 1.70 kg

3rd Prize Kayak Section – Open Bruce Ludgate 1.135 kg

Kayak Open Category - Best Condition Factor Gordon Meaker 54.9500

Lucky Draw Kayak Children and Juniors - Breigan Yorke who took home a Viking Kayaks Scout kayak

Lucky Draw – Kayak Adults - Rosie Allen who took home an Ocean Kayak, Scrambler 2 fishing kayak

Thanks again for the light pole, much appreciated. The smoked trout and cheese was pretty great too! I'll definitely be heading back next year.
