Can anyone answer if it is a necessity to have an inline fuse for the FF when only running of a 12V lithium iron phosphate battery.

thanks

Like Hainesy said.

I have a LiFePo4 battery and I have an inline fuse on the positive out of the battery plus I have an extra one from the positive of my solar panel it I'm running that. Can't be too careful.

And if you happen to reverse polarity it pops the fuse rather than the FF...luckily lol :whew:

I too have a LiFePO4 battery, but I don't run a fuse.

My reasoning is that they have awesome internal battery management, and it's just another thing to go wrong, right when you don't want it to.

Not all LiFePo batteries come with BMS so that is the first thing to check. But if it does then technically a short is one of the things a BMS will protect against.
I will still run a fuse just in case.
