Places to fish in auckland for newbies

Me and my friend have just brought fishing kayaks in a last couple weeks and want to go out on the water tomorrow ,we both have kayaked plenty times before , would

Orere point or Kawakawa bay tend to be fairly reliable, good luck

I find that the channel around Bean Rock nearly always produces something. It's just a matter of finding the right depth and avoiding the ferries!

Easy launching from narrow neck and normally some fish about when the tide is running, just be careful as it flows pretty fast in the channel and you drift pretty quickly at times.

Hey guys just after abit of info,, looking on heading out on sunday for a bit of a paddle/strayline around leigh/omaha? Could anyone point me in the right direction to sum good spots for a newbie cheerz chris.

If the wind stays down just head to the reef at Leigh...just be careful if the weather is at great as the current / wind can make it pretty ugly out there

Went out frm leigh today as soon as i got out the habour saw gannets diving everywere big work ups!
yeeehaa!!! Nek min! Couldnt even get a touch from anything!!
so i paddled bak to the mouth of leigh habour fishing the weedlines ended up piking up a few ocean going kahawais and nice bigg john dory!!
All in all a great day out on the water, had a blast of a time just need to remember sunblock next time!
