Pretty quiet on the water tonight. Managed 4 Gurnard and 1 Snapper. Also caught a Skate ??(released) and 1 Couta which is now bait.
Great sea conditions but very little current, only went as far as 23m as I didnt want to spend to long paddling, think it should fish well for you guys tomorrow if you head a little deeper.
Good luck guys

Not sure about the others they all went home early and so did the boats - actually in the end there was just one fisherman to rule the sea - ME :) Plenty of action with double hook ups of 30cm snapper and a few gurnard thrown in. Most were released with just a couple of bigger ones and a couple of gurnard kept for a feed or two. A blue shark came for a belly rub. Paddled back in the dark singing at the top of my lungs with no one to tell me to shut the fcuk up

Dave and I got on the water at Ohawe at about 6 and off at 9:45 (still odd feeling traversing the surf in the dark). Awesome night on the water with glassy surface, and warm - the water temp down there last night was over 17degrees. I came away with 5 snapper to 2.5kg, 4 gurnard, an awesome cod and a couple of kawhai for the smoker.
Wicked night!
