Cool as. Weather is looking good finally . Tides should be good, I have found there can be a 4kph current that runs offshore on an outgoing tide at walkers. It must build along the shallow area that runsvfrom tarawera to the raus cos I haven't noticed it back towards thornton and on the matata side. 14km round trip to Tasman and that current adds a few extra paddle strokes :y: the northerly will help on the way home. I'm heading down tekaha way on Friday at this stage.

Hi River, no not this time, my paddle mate broke his paddle the day before and arrived a bit late after getting a new one on Sunday. I was out with my 13 yr old son (on his own kayak) and i decided to put safety first. :$ it was an awesome day however, flat as a lake and the fish were certianally on the bite. Got out at about 7.30 and back by 10.30 with my limit all around the 40cm mark, and in great condition.

I will have to make the journey next summer.....gives me something to look forward too.
