Hi Hud, I've not heard of anyone doing it.

I've been out once on a Pete Lamb Charter. They used bottles of salt water that they'd frozen & that seems to work pretty well for them keeping fresh fish cool.

I make my own, every time I go out I fill 2 x 3 litre juice bottles & use some of the water for washing the fish fillets & the remainder I pour into 1 litre yogurt pots & put in the freezer. Then I simply squeeze out 1 or 2 pots of ice into my fish bin on the kayak & she's all good.
