The world record Trade Me auction price you paid for this ute box is money well spent - I won't tell your wife.

I had always wanted to sell a Ute Box on Trade Me just to see what they would go for & how popular they are.
This year I have purchased 3 kayaks that came with Ute Boxes (2 x 4.3/4.7 version & this smaller version) - and have onsold 2 out of 3 the kayaks (keeping the 2 x 4.3 version Ute Boxes for myself) - only one to go ..... an Ocean Kayak Trident 15 in Lemongrass which is for sale currently on Facebook

Sorry Mate,
I just desperately wanted this thing. Perhaps someone with the skills will see this and consider manufacturing these things. I couldn't even find anything similar in the US where there are a heck of a lot of old town ad Ocean kayaks floating around.

Cracker!!!!! Ute box just arrived at my office. Thanks Roger, I will have to take the rest of the afternoon off and fit it to the Predator, I feel a fishing rip coming on, the weather looks good here for Saturday.

The were designed and made in NZ by a KFNZ forum member. Unfortunately the demand just wasn’t there (despite them being awesome !) so he gave up on them. At that stage he sold all his remaining stock incl finished and unfinished Ute Boxes to Rob at Coromandel Kayaks. Rob was selling them as part of new kayak “bundles”....
There’s very few of them around, so when they do come up, they go for good money !
If I ever sold my mine, I think I’d bundle it with my 4.3.... you know, buy the Ute Box, get a free kayak ! :D :D :D

Did your composite fishing kayak get any momentum? I’ve fished from a Stealth now and can understand the attraction. :)

Plug/design is 95 percent finished, pulled out of that too. Did look at all the different ways to build it. Still have that too. Might get chopped up soon.

Stealths are quiet simply the most amazing kayaks....I don't know a single person who has ever been disappointed with their purchase....they tick all the boxes
