Lost my knife over the side last week, bloody snapper got out of my hands, fell on my tackle pod, flicking the knife over the side

Looking for a lanyard like this one
Anyone know where would I get something like this or similar from

I have seen those small floats that would fit in the palm of your hand that boaties use that clip on the boats ignition keys.... either that or a lanyard would do me

Get some weedeater line, wrap it tightly around a 1/2 inch dowel and secure.
soak in boiling water for a few minutes, then into cold water.

One light springy thingy.

Alternatively, whip the cord off an old phone.

That looks like a Catch fishing magnetic release clip - it detaches at the red magnet so you can separate it if you need.

Apropos of the lanyards on Kayaks, I am too cheap/poor to buy the Kayak lanyards on offer in NZ.

Initially I made lanyards using 5mm cord, but after trying some plastic stretchy ones, from eBay, I'm retiring the cord ones as they get tangled in everything.

I spent a lot of time researching the utubery for weed trimmer cord construction, for lanyards and then when I went to get, the cord and crimps and so on, I concluded that $30 or $40 would get me a lot of lanyards, so it was doable, but I only need about 6 of them, so I looked to eBay.

Some are small but some will stretch to 1.5m and are ideal

I got 3 black ones, two years ago and 3 blue ones, 1 year ago, all at about $1 ~$2 each and they're still going strong. But ditch the keyring as these are normal keyrings that rust, the clip on the other end hasn't rusted, but looks like it would fail, so I'm now replacing those with better smaller non rust jobbies, also from eBay.

The downside is I have to wait a month - ish, to get 'em in the post.

The upside is sometimes these are available as a 5 pc or 10 pc deal that is cheaper per, than the unit price.
