Hi all

My second hand cheap Shimano baitrunner has given up the ghost and looking for a replacement.

Been reading some old posts and Know a lot of people recommend the lexa so been prowling marine deals website,

Quick question, is the reel suitable for slow jigging with weights up to 160g and is it robust enough to stop bigger fish? Maybe even cope with the occasional go at light mechanical jigging?

Also do people go for the 300 or 400 size Lots of models and not much difference apart from line capacity?

Any help appreciated or any other recommendation

Cheers

Im using a lexa and a citrix for all my fishing.
Both really enjoyable to use on micros and straylining.
Biffing top water lures I feel I would be better off with a spin.
The drags are super smooth n have yet to need to crank either right up

I really liked my Lexa, until it fell apart lol.

Currently use a couple of Catch reels now days.
If I wanted one to do strayline, slow jig and light mechanical jigging, I prefer my JGX2000 lever drag over the baitcasters I have.

Went to marine deals and looked at Lexa and a few others. In typical fashion ended up not buying one and going for a Trinidad 12a instead.

Used at weekend from a boat and it’s a lovely reel. Bit smoother than the knackered old thing it replaced. Figured it would cover more bases than a baitcaster
