After some thoughts on this comb? Seems a good price for the reel and rod with braid? Or is this too good to be true?

Fantastic reel - I own three Stradic CI4's - never used that rod or braid but look like a good match and at the end of the day that's the price for the reel alone so the rod and braid are in effect free... :y:
Phoenix Kayaks - Hornet
Stealth - Evolution 465
Ramco - Fishmaster 580 My BIG kayak!
...and the countless other kayaks I've owned

That's a bloody good deal! Just note that it would be ideal for heavier end of sofbating. Depending on what you want it for, it might be worth asking if you can downgrade the reel to a 2500 and the rod to the 3-6 kg version. The 2500/3-6kg is my got to go softbaiting outfit :y:

Yup another with the 2500 series of this model. Great reel, nice and light in the hand, plenty of drag and seems to keep out the worst of the conditions..

Wonder if 2500 is strong enough or if the spool is big enough if you "accidentally" hook a kingi?

No worries with kings to well over legal, but you have to take your time and play the fish.

I jumped on it. Price is too good.

Yea 4000 size is the biggest I wanted to go, but at 260 odd grams it's still relatively light and alot of stopping power so this time if I hook something big, I'm hoping I can manage to at least get it to turn around and not just run for the hills and clean me out of 50m of line before busting me off on the reef.

Goods arrived.

Braid seems to be alot like fireline. Spooled up with some mono backing. Thinner at 0.16mm for 15lb than anything else I've seen around.

Fireline is usually my go to.
