Hi Everyone,
Ok things are changing a little this month, we've ran the old format for over five years so it's time for a change, two in fact
Firstly we are moving away from the public vote to a judging panel, the panel will be made up of the sponsors, the moderators, and myself. This change is to try and remove any swaying of the votes by popularity of the angler.
The second change is also quite dramatic, we are dropping the requirement of the need to catch a fish to enter, we are aware that depending on the month, the weather, or your physical location, that not everyone is in a position to catch that "monster" fish to out fish everyone else. There are some anglers who given where they fish have no ability to catch a 20lb Snapper but they can haul in that beast of a Blue Cod, or may be your may be you are ecstatic about your first Gurnard from the kayak even if it's barely legal you did it and you are proud of it - and so you should be! As I said you don't even need to land a fish, just enter the photo you took of that sunrise / sunset / perfect oily sea / birds working / kayaks lined up on the beach / what ever it is that gives you the pleasure from kayak fishing and share it with the rest of the community
The Rules:
Competition Dates: July 1st to July 31st
1. Only one entry per member
2. Multiple entries are allowed over the month but only your last entry will be put into the pool for judging, this means that the Snapper you catch on the 5th you put up, then on the 20th you catch a bigger Snapper and you post that, and on the 30th you manage to catch a bigger one still, the panel will only judge your entry from the 30th.
All entries should include any or all of the following information (along with a picture)
Name / Username of Angler:
Fish Type:
Length:
Date/Time of Capture/Photo:
Location of Capture/Photo:
Type of Lure/Bait used:
Comments: (optional)
The judging panel is made up of the sponsors, KFNZ moderators, and KFNZ owner Mental.
The prize for the best fish this month is again a great prize from K-Labs
The runner up will receive a selection of goodies from Top Catch Whangarei
These are excellent prizes, so lets show our support and lets see how many entries we can put in between us this month, remember it's not always size that counts!
Good luck everyone!
