Meeting up with Pjay off of Tapeka point, Russell. We started a very unproductive few hours fishing.
I snagged one of my lines and snapped off the trace and was ready to pack up for the day, but decided to give it another few minutes... and BOOM!!!
A hell of a strike! As i got control of the line, I could tell this was a decent fish and called for Pjay and my mate Kirk to come and give a hand as I had no net (and on 8kg braid with 20lb trace didnt want to chance it). After about 15 minutes and a very sore arm i pulled this baby on board.
ABSOLUTELY STOKED!!! A big thanks to Kirk and Pjay of the reassurance

Many a true word, mate.

I put the fish in there from the side of Dan's kayak, and the bag (that filled his fish storage recess at the stern) was too small, by about 5-10cm. Just as well I had my mitt through the gills, otherwise would possibly have lost it overboard - and in one fell swoop I would have gone from Mr Popular to Mr Dikshit.

Everyone is a genius.

But if you judge a fish
on its ability to climb a tree.
it will live its whole life believing it is stupid.
