Hi Guys :)

Having just bought the Viking reload, I was wondering if you guys that are more familiar with this yak, could tell me what the cut out square section behind the seat area is for, was it designed for a fold up back rest?

Iv'e seen only one picture of the viking where this back rest had been fitted, only I can't find said picture now :)

many thanks.

I did wonder Andrew if one from the ultra 4.3 would fit or any other for that matter :)

Thanks for that :)

Iv'e had a look but can't see the seat or any information about shipping etc.

But nice looking backrest, looks like they could be a popular option if more folk knew about them, I was just lucky to notice a picture of one when I was researching the Viking reload :)

The Viking kayak website has seat cushions. I use the double thickness

In my case, I would have to lie down on my puku.... a bit of "size" around my mid-drift :P

Thanks, I will look into that, cheers
ummmmmm... if I was to go for an unplanned swim, what would be suggested to contain these cushions floating away elsewhere ?

I recently bought the hurricane seat from viking kayaks. Its not on their website but if you call them talk to stephen or any one there, they will sort it out. I think it was 140$.

The straps are a bit short though, they suggest using self taping screws but I wasn't keen on making more hole in my yak so i used two meter long tie down strap and it works fine.

TN , do you troll with the rods in the front holders? Is there a lot of "wiggle" with the exta leverage? I was thinking of using the short extention as well .

Very useful for trolling and the idea i had was keep the reel far from the water splashes in those choppy waters and it works great.
