Re: position or roof racks ?

It all depends on how much you want to spend. Having two racks on your roof will be fine and will deffanitly hold your two 400 Vikings. Having another on your canopy will give extra support and put less stress on the front two how ever this is where the price can jump up and you may need to add spac...

Re: Mission Flow to Fishing Kayak

I used to have a flow. Great kayak for playing in the surf and for a first yak to fish from. I used mine for a bit of fishing so flush mounted a railblaza star port in the front for a rod holder and a few hatchs for storage. I also put a clip in seat as well which made it really comfortable. The fro...

Re: vehicles to transport kayaks

My lambogini works well with a roof box. Just take that off and put the kayak in the racks. Not sure what your buget is but you could always pay it off at $1000 a week for the rest of your life

Re: New Kayak: Viking Kayak Profish GT

For a 3.6m kayak it's not the slug you think it would be. It tracks really nicely and has speed when you need it if you check out the promo video for the GT at the end of it there is a clip of Stephen in his Reload and I'm in the GT and we are side by side at a nice pace.

Re: New Kayak: Viking Kayak Profish GT

Anyone paddled it, this likes a nice alternative for those of us that don't paddle huge distances but want plenty of room and storage. I had the privilege of test paddling these kayaks a few weeks ago. They are really stable and so easy to stand up on and sight cast, even standing side on was not a...

Re: Time to Upgrade - advice please

You should always tie your kayak front and rear. Doesn't matter if doesn't go our past your bonnet, it's a safety thing and puts less stress on your roof racks.

Re: New member (Waikato)

Welcome. There are a few guys going to the meet up from the Waikato. The Waikato kayak fishing club has a few members attending so will be a good chance to meet a few new guys to fish with. If you see me at the meet up come say hi and have a  just look for the black 4x4 with Canoe & Kayak and ...

Fishing weekend

Hey guys, Canoe & Kayak Waikato has organized a fishing weekend on the 10th of October up at Papa Aroha. It would be great to see some club members there and would be a good opportunity to meet new people and let them know about the club. For those that are interested give Amanda a call at the shop ...

Re: Yakima Cradles

Cheers Arnie. That's a lot of gear you have on your roof! For various reasons, I'm keen to keep with the Cradles rather than the J type bars. Would you say that the Mako units were better than the options available locally? Pretty much all that style of cradle are good. It just comes down to how mu...

Re: Yakima Cradles

I have used the mako cradles and found them fine however I prefer to use the Bow downs as they make it a lot easier to load the kayak and with the kayak being on its side it doesn't dent as it's a hard edge. The other main reason I like them is you can fit a lot more gear on the roof racks. Cheers, ...

Re: Transporting your Kayak

Hey Arnie, what's the internal length of that roof rack pod? Might solve some of the issues I have with the Hilux double cab not having enough length to fit rods under the canopy (means they have to go through between the seat in the cab - bit of a nuisance. Cheers. Hey Stephen I haven't got the bo...

Re: Transporting your Kayak

I use roof racks and Yakima bow down cradles with a roof box for my rods and wet gear. I am also building a trailer at the moment for comps and weekend away trips.
