Re: Curious Swing owner checks out the new Mission Catch 420

First post, but my 2 cents worth. The not so good: 1. The fishfinder "hatch" doen't do much for me. 2. The small hatch in front of the seat needs sometning in it! I also have one of these (ok, its a modded xtreme, but there is very little difference). These are prob the 2 things that frustrate me m...

Re: A prowler with Profish style storage!?

Question!! Did you make the boxes up yourselves, and when closed, are they watertight?

I have a modded xtreme 420, but the center box is just crap, so will be making some mods to replace it.

I think I'll hook my brother into it tho, as I'm useless when trying to make stuff lol

How would they be for general fishing and (in winter) keeping the fingers warm? Baiting and tying knots etc might be a little more difficult.

Hhmmm, I saw these the other day... I love fishing in REAL close to rocky outcrops etc, this would have come in handy a few weeks ago where one paddle is all that was needed every now and then

Re: KNOTS FOR JOINING BRAID

Interesting knot.. Could be hard to tie on kayak at the mercy of the ocean condidtions. I haven't attempted a Bimini on the kayak, I have been switching to the Albright as I've practiced it far more. Like any knots thought, if well practiced, the Bimini, Cats Paw, Yucatan and Albright are all knots...

Re: Auckland Region - SeaClear Uploads

Just if you're interested... there is an IPhone app called Navionics Marine (New Zealand) that I use all the time when checking where I want to try fishing next, and works with GPS so you can see where you are in relation to the charts. Also has the ability to link into Google Maps (from within the ...

Re: KNOTS FOR JOINING BRAID

I think the best way for a braid to braid connection is as follows... 1. Do a Bimini Twist on both ends of braid http://www.leadertec.com/tipsandtechniques/fishing_knots/knots_Bimini.html 2. Simply do a cats paw connection. http://www.leadertec.com/tipsandtechniques/fishing_knots/knots_catspaw.html ...

Re: Sea Anchor questions...

Hence my issue... The tide fair rips through the channel where I fish due to the massive difference between wellington and paraparaumu tides. Because it's open ocean, when there is a decent wind, you REALLY don't want to be out there fishing so I'm using it in high tide low wind situations and it d...
