Re: taranaki classic

Looking like the conditions will be good for the comp. There has been a bit of rain so the water is dirty in close but there is only a small swell and forecast is for light winds both days so should be some nice flat water. :y:

Re: Tuna Hunt 25th Feb 2017

We were lucky and got great conditions for the tuna hunt with light winds first thing and a sea breeze from about 11am to push us back in.
Lots of albacore landed in the 70m-85m zone. 28 entered this year.
1st Adrian Clark 7.8kg
2nd Dave Letherby 7.6kg
3rd Daniel Clout 7.2kg

Re: Berley Mate Long-life Rapid Berley

That is the only burley I use now, gone away from the stinky frozen stuff and just add a few pig feed pallets which are cheap and break down quicker to get the trail going. I only cut off part of the log, maybe a 1/4 or so. Any still left in the burley bag stays in there until next time and doesn't ...

Re: Taranaki Classic 2017 Team mate

White cliffs is just past Wai iti, before you go over Mt Messenger. WC is also called Pukearuhe, down the end of Pukearuhe road. Tongaporutu is over the other side of Mt Messenger further north. It depends a lot on the conditions where the best spots will be and also what you want to target. Urenui ...

Re: Tuna Lures

Yeah the strike pro minnows are proven to work well and feathers work too. The hooks are not the greatest on the strike pro so it pays to upgrade those with stronger trebles. Softbaits also work and I plan to try using some small grubs this year on the albies.
