Re: Anyone tried smoking fish?

While smoking salmon in the weekend, I read somewhere about smoking cheese. So I cut up some Colby cheese in a bowl, added chopped rosemary and put it into the smoker. Once melted you can pour it into an smaller container and put it in the fridge. Take it out once cold and Bloody nice flavor..... Th...

Mission Bay fish and Intro to Kayak Fishing day 6th March,

This Saturday the EAKFC is having a club fish at Mission Bay, hopefully the weather will be kind to us and the beach will be calm on sunny. This is also aimed at being a low key marketing event for the club, while some are out fishing on the nearby reefs, some of the committee will be on hand on the...

Re: Introduction to Kayak Fishing Day

The location has moved and toned down :n: due to one person! We are having a morning at Mission Bay, hoping to get as many Kayaks along and some will go for a fish. The rest will be on show and members will be talking to the public about Kayak fishing. There may be a few new Kayaks on 'show' as well...

Re: Introduction to Kayak Fishing Day

They can object if you need a permit/consent. The permit was to 'book' a small area of the beach to have the Kayaks and so the public can have a look

If you just turned up as a club for a fish on a beach you dont need a permit.

Re: Introduction to Kayak Fishing Day

Things have changed!!! There was one objection to our consent which was that we were taking over the beach. Once that was sorted and the event was scaled back, then the same person objected to us catching fish in the bay!!!! The council has been told we wont hold a fishing comp on the Intro day. So ...

Kawakawa Bay

The EAKFC had a fish at Kawakawa Bay on Sunday. 14 yaks out there and most got a fish or more. So I decided to go out this morning (take the morning off work) and try for a few more. I paddled over to the Western side of the small Island where I drifted around the area and from 7am till 10.30am I en...

Re: Whatuwhiwhi - Lets Hear the Trip reports!

Hi, On Saturday most of the EAKFC fished along the coast from the camp. It was very slow most of the morning. I ended up being dragged back down the coast by a 1.5m Mako. That was a first for me. Great fun, but did cut the line once it jumped out of the water around 4m from the kayak. The biggest Sn...

Re: kayakfishingnz stickers

I had some calenders done through that site and it is cheap... BUT they are printed in the Sates and they charge a lot for the postage. One I had done was approx US$5 and then US$19 to send it to NZ!

I found a few sites were like that, have a .co.nz but linked to a US company
