Re: Just finished my initial set up

You have been busy. :D
Mental on here is the go to guy for decals. ;)
Those cheap as caribiner type clips will not save your rods in a decent turtle. Small SS ones are easily bought from Mitre10 or Burnsco or Smart Marine etc, good idea to leash everything though ( except your gaff) :y: :y:

Re: I Hate The Wind

It could be worse. You could be home off work during the week with the perfect alignment of weather and moon phase, but unable to paddle due to recoverying from surgery, only gazing out the window in frustration. :(
Hainsey knows what I'm taking about , :)

Re: Strayline reels

It is the rod that does the work. As long as your chosen reel has a smooth drag and can hold the appropriate amount of line, it does not matter.

When my arm is better and I can get on the water again I think I will need to tag along with you two and act as a mediator, :D ( you could teach me a thing or two also :y: )

Re: Paddle recommendations

Damn! I just gave away an old draw knife to hang on a wall for a display.I could've used that ( when my elbow is fixed) . When my wife believes a working area is more important in a home than extra bedrooms " in case a child needs to visit" or a second lounge , I might get to try my hand at things I...

Previously only only twice short trips to Inglewood ( for kittens!) ,the Leader of the Opposition,my wife, and I spent the last few days in New Plymouth. (Then down to Feilding and back through Taupo) A ride out with Chappy on an old british lifeboat and a chat with Herb S. at the ramp , as well as ...

Re: Dry Bags

I fitted a four screw saddle with backing block behind on the flat bit between the rodholders behind the seat on my old 440, for my tether. On my current one I have several saddles with backing washers I could use. I have a leash for solo missions in less than perfect weather/light conditons. The "f...

Re: WTB Kayak

Welcome to the addiction :D Please don't forget to factor in your PFD into your budget. Appropriate clothing for colder months can be aquired along the way, but a correct for purpose and well fitted PFD could be your best purchase, ;) Some would add a VHF radio to that as well.(along with the certif...
