Re: Kohi Sat 17 Nov

It was a very quiet drift until my very last cast. I even said "This is the last cast" on the video :)
It got taken on the drop and I could tell this was a little bigger. Ended up being 55cm (2.5kg). So a total of 6.
Paddled back home and had some fresh snapper for lunch. Yum.

Kohi Sat 17 Nov

Another cracker of a morning that was perfect for a fish. I headed out at 6am for the long paddle over to Rangi. I did one drift on the outgoing tide and picked up 4 in the 35-40cm and one 46cm. At the end of the drift I had enough to come home but with the tide low at 9:30 I knew I needed to stay o...

Re: Kohi - Sun Oct 7

good fishing there mate might have to try my luck from kohi, not sure where to go the second to last photo, I see you use a "chill pack" of some sort. is it a frozen pack & does it last an entire fishing session ? Yes they are normal (albeit large) chilly bin cooling blocks. I use 4. From memory I ...

Kohi - Sun Oct 7

I got on the water at first light. A nice 45 minute paddle at 6kph to Rangitoto. Hooked into fish immediately. The slow jig rod was getting more than its share of hits today as long as I kept the lure within 1 metre of the bottom. At one stage I had a huge fish on only to have it fall off half way t...

Good to see you getting out again, look forward to catching up with you over there again.
I walk down via Speight to Kohi.

Doing some rod macrame in one of those shots by the looks. Some solid snaps - and a legal banana. Nice.
Yes the fish decided to go on that side. Not very cooperative of it. :)

Kohi - Sat Sep 29th

I had good intentions and set my alarm for 4:30 Saturday morning planning to be on the water before sunrise but when I woke I was feeling very tired and had a headache so I took some Panadol and went back to sleep. I woke up and had breakfast and then about 9am I decided to go out. I know I had miss...

Nice catch Luke. I hope you got in before it really started to blow. I flagged going today and I'm glad I did. Hopefully we get some nicer weather soon.

Wife, here's the fish, can you fillet them please, oh and here's my memory card. A nice edit with music would be good. I'm off for a beer, and then maybe a snooze
Not sure it worked quite as well as you are suggesting :)

That's what I was thinking too Andrew. When I was over there I went for a row but it was blowing a gale and they said it was typically like that.

Well done mate. Looks like you have been busy.

I was over in Perth at the start of the year ( it was around Australia day). Forgot completely that you were over there. I will remember to ping you when I'm there next.
