Re: Narrowneck 19.1

Well done - have not fished in ages. Three young kids is a killer... Out of interest, how did you fillet and cook that shark? I tried to skin it but must of done something wrong. It looked easy on utube. I gutted it straight away then chopped the fins and tail off. It was easy to fillet, just ran t...

Narrowneck 19.1

My parents are over from the UK so I headed out at 6 to get some fresh fish for tea. Mitch was busy building his new private empire and the other members of the team were nowhere to be found. With high tide at 7 I trolled a sub sonic lure towards rough rock but only got 3 throw backs. I then parked ...

Re: Narrow Neck - Sunday 6th

Nice haul. Haven't caught a KY for ages.
Try the orange slider, they usually produce a few snapper.
If you're really unlucky you may see me, Doc, Barry and Mitch next time. :D

Re: NN 02-19 1st fish of the year!

I was late again. Good to meet you Dedant. I hope the shoulder held up ok. Doc I reckon your knocking them fish out with the 130 gram slider  therefore you are disqualified, the Mayor wins again. Kermit you need casting lessons after almost taking my head off with that softie, or was that your ...

Re: NN Saturday 29-12-18

Great morning on the water 8).

Being Mayor I really need my sleep, it's a pretty strenuous job, coupled with the fact both my boys and my wife have been sick over the holidays.

Some fresh fish will speed up their recovery.

Merry Christmas all

Narrowneck 16 Dec

With their Xmas shopping finished, I met the full crew of Kermit, Baz and Doc at the ramp for 5.15. It was a mint morning with glorious conditions amid the usual banter. The fishing was good too. I was using a new slider and soon had 7 in the back. Doc was testing out new methods and was getting hea...

Re: AHB 11 Dec

Very funny story and well written, I was laughing out loud while reading it  Importantly your ok and lucky for you it wasn't boat! I used to fish around the Navy base but it's just way to risky and got sick of being tossed around by the constant wake. You should join us for a fish at Narrow Ne...

NN Saturday

With the Mayor being the only one of the NN Premiere League with the balls to go out this weekend I hit the ramp alone at 530am. Fellow league members were unavailable due to various lackluster lame excuses, mainly, I believe to be dragged around by there better halves Christmas shopping. Really cha...

Well done mate. That pig fish looks a bit like the wrasse that we used to catch in the UK. Never ate them though.

Re: Auckland Marathon - Not again!

It was ok to start with. Got a bit choppy on the way back but I was done by 930. Marine Weather was showing 4 knots. It really picked up later on. Must of been a big tide as I was drifting pretty quickly.

Ha ha you Egg  I thought Mitch would of told you! I went on Sat. Got seven but nothing big. Hardly anyone around after last weekends Piccadilly circus like conditions. Really must hose the yak down, It's starting to smell like an old fishing trawler :D Catch you next time. 20181027_094732.jpg

Re: NN 21/10 Train Station

Bloody poor form from that skipper. Lets hope he returned with empty fish bins. Glad your ok and we'll all need to keep an eye out in future. On a more positive note, I'm pleased to see another trophy adorn The Mayors already bulging prize cabinet. Yes that's right I took out first place in this wee...

Re: Day out Saturday NN

Congratulations on your victory Mitch. I'm surprised you did a Trip Report as in true Aussie style you were informing everyone on the beach about your catch! It was an impressive crowd that you had drawn in telling them how you are the master fisherman. Just remember what happened to Warner, Smith a...

Re: NN - 29/09 7 x 3 = Fun

Erriely quiet at the ramp without the usual whinging about my latness from Mitch. Although this week I was on time. Great to see Baz out of Hibernation and back on the water. Even better to see him being towed back to Narrowneck by a stingray. Oh dear, ping and there goes another $20 slider. ...
