Wanted: Strayline Rod

Hi all, Just wondering if someone has a rod laying about feeling un-loved and lonely in the garage, that they would like to see re-homes to a happier life style? Looking for a 6-7ft stayline spin rod for on the kayak. Nothing with a fat chunky handle, and preferable the reel seat not too low either...

Re: Anyone interested in my moulds for centre console???

Nice work mate - Is that the same size as the trident 4.3 or is it the narrower ones like the later models are now too? I have a ute box already but have come across a few people who would be keen on one (or something similar). Not sure how much it would cost you to make another mold of 3 - but coul...

Re: Anybody in Wellington with a Lowerance Elite 4

Hi,

I'm sure someone here may be able to help you, but if not you could try the 'wellington kayak fishing community' page on facebook if you're in the facebook land. I have the 5 so has 2 separate cables unfortunately.

Hopefully you can get it sorted :y:

Re: PUK Bay

I was one of the many out there Majortom. On the water about 6am. Was pretty quiet indeed for the morning. It wasn't until the afternoon when I moved out to another spot on the sand that I caught about 20 Gurnard and a snapper (kept a dozen). Sometimes the bit is just not on, then you move spots, or...

Paddle recommendations

Hey fellow kayakers, How many of you have tried multiple paddles (each at a different time ofcorse  ). I currently use an old Alloy 2-piece paddle. I normally fish within 2km from shore but can be a total of 5-10km on an average day paddling when you factor in moving spots, paddling back and f...

WTB - Paddle

Thinking of upgrading my paddle to a carbon/glass, anyone have one or looking to sell one? Don't really have a specific one in mind so open to any offers below or flick me a PM with details.

Cheers.

Re: Returning to the kayak, where & what to catch in Wellington?

Well saw your last message a little late....how did you go in the weekend? I don't troll lures much, but I use a type of clip which doesn't actually clip (not sure what they are called, Kind of imagine an upside down R when the centre doesn't quite join to itself)) on my rod when dropping jigs etc. ...

Re: How do you deal with spiny dogfish in a yak?

Needle nose pliers are great. I normally grab the spiny dog by the scruff of the neck with a wet rag, watch out for its tail as it will try to twist it around. Then use the pliers to de hook it and off it goes.

Re: Returning to the kayak, where & what to catch in Wellington?

As Justine said above, those are all promising spots. Regards to Gurnard, Evans bay is holding them as usual and would be the number 1 spot for the harbour I would say, or if the weather is right then around Lyall bay should have some good ones as well. If you are in the Facebook world, join 'Fishin...

Re: Ocean Kayak - Tackle Storage Pods - What would you pay?

Interesting replies, and yeah they a definitely rare to find these days! When someone sees mine out on the water here in Welly I almost fear for my safety! I love it though, keeps everything dry, and means I have everything including food/water and fish finder packed and ready to go the night before...

Ocean Kayak - Tackle Storage Pods - What would you pay?

Hey guys, Just a quick question, I have a Ute Box already, but as I know Ute Boxes are no longer available (unfortunately for those who don't have one already). What would you be willing to pay, for a similar concept idea of a removeable pod to fit Ocean kayaks, if you could get it tomorrow? For tho...

Re: Winter boots.

Still looking. Viking Mata Mata doesn't have them in size 11 :/ Give Paddler Zone a call and see what size he has in stock, he just got a shipment in a couple weeks ago (website lists all sizes, but as I found out that doesn't mean they are in stock). Viking advised me they are not going to restock...

Re: Finally got (and installed) a Ute Box on Trident 4.3

So after a almost a year of loving the Ute box, I have a made a couple more adjustments on the trident 4.3 over this time. After trying to find any 4.3 modifications in regards to more rear rod holders, I couldn't find anything so thought posting my results here may help someone else looking for ide...

Re: Anyone tried these batteries/power packs?

Ask them what voltage the Ahrs capacity is rated at. If it's rated at USB voltage of 5v the capacity at 12v will be more like 6.25Ahr. Or ask for the Watt-hours capacity and divide by 12 to get Ahrs at 12v. I'm no electrician but this is the info the gave me... Capacity: 15 Amp Output: DC 12-volt, ...
