Silentnght07, When the sea is flat there is some good fishing to be had off Wanganui, very underrated, Waitotara and Kaiiwi beaches seem to produce fish more often then not. Here is a couple photos, need to learn to take the time to take photo's whilst on the water, seem to get too carried away with the fishing. Also need to invest in a go pro or something more water proof than my mobile phone.

Kaiiwi beach or Waitotara my fav spots in Wanganui plenty of good sized snaps around, have heard Turakina and Whangaehu beaches fish well also.

Managed to get out off Kaiiwi beach in Wanganui on Sunday the 4th of March, Got the Viking out onto the water around 7:30am, Sea was as flat as a pancake :D , paddled 1.8kms out to around the 12m mark.
