Re: Heavy kayak loading systems

If you want a fancy loader look on youtube.com search Fredrock cafe kayak loader.
I had one made and also put electric winch on. Works a treat

Re: Heavy kayak loading systems

I have used the roller thing attached with suction cups on back window of Camry wagon. Worked well. Even forgot to take off once and it stayed there for 100km. Was cheap off eBay or Amazon.

Re: Anchor

I made an anchor using 5mm steel rod. When it gets stuck just pull harder and the rod straightens out. Pull it up to the yak rebend the grapples and good to go again.
Makes it easy and don't have to tie or use cable ties.
Seems to hold ok.

Re: Mounting battery in Viking tackle pod

Mine is at the back of the tackle pod, the end closest to you. It has two straps holding it down and seems to stay in place ok

Re: Speccy four eyes?

I wear prescription Sunnys and have lost one pair when got dumped in surf. Insurance covered thank goodness as they were over $1000 to replace. Still go with the new ones but take them off and store in kayak hatch if coming in through surf.

Re: Free online trailer plans

There are some engineering shops that still make leaf springs. There is one in Palmerston North but I cannot remember the name. Had some made many years ago.
If you tell the weight you want they should be able to make for you

Re: fitting Anchor trolley to Left or Right side - I have a plan

I have a Viking pro fish reload and it has fittings on both sides so it doesn't matter, like others said whatever suits you. Mine is on the left and I fish from the left.

Re: VHF radio

Hi Nemesis
I run one battery which is a 7 amp/hour.
Sounds like I may need another or larger capacity one

VHF radio

I have a Lowrance Hook 5 sounder/chart plotter and are thinking of installing a fixed VHF.
What size battery should I get
