Re: C-Tug Wheels (Free)

Re Wheeleez, I got the 32cm ones, I had the last complete conversion kit which I used on one of my C-Tugs, the guy at Beachwheels has stopped producing them, but for my 2nd Tug he kindly gave me the blank material for the axle conversion which I machined at work.... The two converted Tugs were for o...

Re: Lowrance transducer etc

Given that mines an Elite HDI, I suspect it will be fine..I work in Kumeu...any chance I could borrow it and check out the connectors etc?
How much are you looking for?

Lowrance transducer etc

Having added a Hobie Tandem Island to the fleet, I'm looking to add a transducer and power cable to the new yak, so I can swap my head unit back and forth...
Anyone got a 83/200hz tranducer and power cable knocking around to sell? Or even a complete Lowrance set up maybe?

Re: Versatile and affordable kingfish setup

I caught my first legal kingie (1 metre) a couple of weekends back, off Langs Beach, using a 60g Kubara, 6kg braid, Shimano Saragosa 5000 reel and a K Labs softbait/spinning rod. Took over 20 mins to get it to the gaff!

Re: Matouri Bay/Cavalli Islands, 27th April

I was astonished that a snapper that size would actively chase a lure, I was peddling at 5-6kph at the time, so it had to move a bit!

Matouri Bay/Cavalli Islands, 27th April

New PB, 17lb snapper on a Dr Evil trolling lure round the back of the island, followed by an epic 16kph surf on the big swells coming back through the gap between the islands... Amazing visibility closer in to Matouri, 8.5 metres of water beneath me and I could easily see the 20cm snapper swimming u...

Re: Anyone fished in Rarotonga?

Having fished Raro and Aitutaki, I would heartily recommend Black Pearl, Mike is awesome, nothing too much trouble, gives you a full range of locations and techniques and full involvement. Casting poppers for GT's is the most exciting fishing I've ever experienced. Charters out of Raro were not so g...

Re: New Outback

If you ever want a trial, we have a pair of Revolution 16's, just about to move from Waitakere to Wellsford, so busy the next couple of weekends, but maybe able to meet up at Snells/Sullivans sometime.
Cheers

Re: New and need some advice on a Hobie Outback

A little unfair to label the Revolutions as slow...we have a pair of Revo 15's and can cruise all day long at 7kph...covering distance much easier than paddle yaks...much easier into a headwind too.

Sullivan's Anzac Day

On the water at 6.30 with everyone else. Landed a couple of 35cm fish early on then ended up out at the south end of Motuora Island with a FF showing heaps of fish, hooked up a 40cm on first drop of orange slider, thinking it was going to be a frantic 1/2 hour and full bag....but that was it..back o...

Re: Charging ff batteries in the car

If the socket produces 13+v is it then ok to connect direct to the ff battery? or do I still need the DC-DC charger?

Charging ff batteries in the car

Is there an easy way to charge a fish finder battery in the car while travelling? We are doing a 2 week South Island road trip over the holidays and will have 2 ff batteries to keep charging up. I have a small 150w inverter that plugs into the lighter socket and a low output trickle charger, but see...
