Re: the good news and the bad news

As I said,,I look at these things differently. If you don't have the spine to do something about it up front,,why talk about it at all ? Coming onto a fishing web site and bitching about it achieves nothing,,other than pointing out that "you" supported it by letting it go. Putting the boot in withou...

Re: the good news and the bad news

40 Kahawai,,,I guess I look at this a bit differently than some. There's plenty of people "lots of them on this site" that take a hell of a lot of fish,,,but because they do it within the current laws,,their all good. In the mean time some guy nobody knows the first thing about takes a few Kahawai o...

Re: Its been a while......but the time has come!

Sorry,I just did some research,,at that start price this thing is going to go nuts and end up going for more than the price of a brand new PF400,,,,which it's simply not worth..

No bids yet,,,ask the seller if they'll put up a "buy now",, if they will and it's under $1400,,,jump on it.

FOT
The beam runs at 60 degrees,so you can recess it quite a bit.
The Manual explains it all. ;)

Re: Its been a while......but the time has come!

I have a standard PF400,,the lite is made of a more dense plastic and wheighs around 3kg less.
I owned a couple of different kayaks and tried out a couple of others before buying the 400,,,which I bought based on price because there was bugger all in it between the others.

Re: fish finder ??

Yes,,the stupid fish pictures are the fish ID mode,,,You can turn it off.
And you definately need too because if you don't it will ping every piece of floating weed ect as a fish and eventually drive you nuts.

Re: Soft baits or real bait?

Go to the NZ Fishing web site and you will find a sub section dedicated to softbaiting.
It has a ton of advice and very good articles on softbaiting.

Good catch :y: I left a set of keys somewhere in the surf line at Kariotahi beach during my first surfing effort. Had them inside the center hatch of the 400 shortly before finding out the bungies will not always hold the hatch completely shut during a roll over when there's also a broken loose batt...

What's your plan Coach ? I'm thinking about paddling out from Te Toro and fishing a deep spot I found on the Clarkes beach side of the Poutawa bank last week. Sit out there, burley up an catch the biggist snaps in the harbor until about a hour after the tide starts to run out, then head over to Mataka...
