Re: Conservation: its time to stop blaming the commercial guys

Agree with the keep what you catch until you get what you need. Just eat the whole thing and don't throw away the real good bits like we tend to do. Or find someone to take your heads and frames if you only like the fillets. Heaps of guys appreciate a smoked frame or head if they cant get out themse...

Re: Maybe F/S stealth Evo 495

Soooo busy at the moment. Will pull the yak out of the shed to take photo's in the next few days. Age not too sure of. Mike may be able to fill that gap. I have had it for a few years. Stored inside. No damage. It is not brand new. It did get a crack when I first got it which I had professionally re...

Re: Night Fishing

Night fishing with JM will definitely bring the Rays out.
I have not had a lot of luck at night in the firth. Harbour fishing at night is something else though. Anywhere that there is a lot of boat traffic during the day seems to come alive with fish at night.

If you are in Taupo, Acacia bay is a good launch. Paddle round to the rock carvings to the East with a few little bays that are good for a stop and a swim this time of year.

There always seem to be fluctuations. sometimes you cant move in the Firth for the bloody things. I can't say it seems any worse this year. I remember a few years ago it was ridiculous.

Nice. Another mansion for Mental to add to his property portfolio, or perhaps a bigger yacht
Good work in securing support to keep the forum going another year for when I pop back.

Nice. And all with just one pair of undies

Always nice when a shark just takes the hook and leave the expensive part behind. Shame it didn't stay that way. How was the new rod?

Re: protocol for naming craft.

I hope there is no protocol. So far naming has been down to only getting round to removing one sticker from previously owned yak. My Stealth is called Now Man and Prowler is called Rug Runner   Getting to the stage where I wont buy second hand unless the owner has a name that works with 1 ...

Re: SOLD DrugRunners custom ultra

so what's happened to that precious Stealth Still in the fleet and still very much number one. I missed the practicality of the Prowler though so could not resist this price. Could pretty much guarantee the money back if I flicked it off so a no brainer. Like HLD surprised it stayed unsold for so l...

Re: The Drifft Chute Drogue Issue

I have had a few and while not definitive I have found that if it rolls up tight easily then it seems to unroll easily. A small float on the narrow end helps to open it up too and easier to collect back in.
At the moment I am using the Rob Fort one.

It's sold now and settled nicely in the garden of a very handsome yakker in Rotovegasland.  Just need to work out how to justify another fishfinder now so open to offers. I was really pleased to find out it did not have a Northland Prowlers sticker on it though (kind of makes me think o...
