http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/15/01/01/765b2eb248e49dd8cc46b125efb15e93.jpg Went for an early fish this morning, kids had been sprat catching at the silo wharf yesterday so had plenty of fresh yems, macs and pipers. The yems & macs were like small soft plastics and looked mean as on the ledger ...

Re: BAM - First Blood!

Took my youngest (9yr) out today, anchored at the 12m hole opposite the campground, burleyed up and got pestered by gold fish. He lost a good string puller that self released close to the yak, regardless it was the fish of the day for him and much talked about back at the Bach. Headed back earlier t...

Re: BAM - First Blood!

Yup, brought it in as soon as I discovered it was staying under. Have made a new one out of multiple squares of closed cell foam as an interim step until I can get a decent float.

BAM - First Blood!

Took BAM (my 2+1) out yesterday in the Raglan Barbour, managed to pull a 30 & 36 out from all the gold fish [emoji2] first serious fishing mission since I got it at the end of October. No sounder yet, so drifted between Motukokako pt & Paritata peninsula until I found fish. Used my revised diy drift...

Was it surfcasters or kontikis? Popular spot for the kontikis I've heard.

Re: Diy drift chute

Finally had a chance to test it yesterday, worked a treat almost like being anchored.

I did notice it kept submerging the end float, so would that be because the float is too small or the end hole needs to be made bigger?

Re: Diy drift chute

Yup has a float on the skinny end :) The glue is a Bostik shoe glue, not the unigrip I want to use unfortunately, but lists PVC on its list of sticking ability. Will be keeping an eye on it as I use it to see how it's holding together, if it starts looking dodgy I'll hand stitch it as the wifes sewi...

Diy drift chute

Hi guys, I was given a kayak drogue by a mate but it was pretty ineffective at slowing me down in the 2+1. So having an old billboard tarp, I cut out a 1m radius hemisphere, rolled it to the size I was happy with, glued it with some shoe contact glue I had lying around, added some eyelets and now ha...

WTB Bostik Unigrip 999 & Solvent #4

Or similar for making bags out of 700d PVC billboard tarpaulin. I bought an old billboard tarp of tm and want to try making dry bags out of it. The Bostik unigrip 999 is mentioned on a couple of websites as a good contact aggressive for this, anyone have a small quantity I can buy off them or know w...
