Re: KFNZ Forums to Close
Thanks for everything Mental. I too have given up kayak fishing (jetski then boat), but I have to say this community was better than any I've found since. The memories and friends made through this site will keep me going for many years to come. Sad to see it go, but cross fingers we'll catch up aga...

Re: Police harassment me new to kayaking hauraki gulf
Doesn't sound like harassment to me. If both the CG and police are telling you not to go out, it'll be for your safety as well as theirs.

Re: Knots damaging guides?
I use an FG on all my sets (other than deep water electric where I have no leader).
IMO, the B2B Uni is one of the easier knots, but also the worst. There are plenty of knots I would use instead.

Re: No fishing
How many swimmers and surfers need rescuing each year? How many kayakers out for a calm paddle need rescuing? The numbers aren't really comparable. FAAAAR fewer kayakers out compared to swimmers and surfers. I'd probably suggest kayakers need rescuing at a higher ratio. Coming into winter, the numb...

Re: No fishing
It's your call mate, but it goes against the advice of all the emergency services and the government which has finally got it's advice straight. I feel your pain, I really want to get out for a fish too, but have decided against it. This may help you to make up your mind about how to play this one....

Had that in a bluenose too. Only 1 of 4 had the worms, but they were all through itAndrewRawlingson wrote: ↑Mon Mar 16, 2020 11:30 pm Worms all the way through the fillets like a coutta. Shame, having good meal from that fish would have been the perfect end to a good fishing story.

Re: Daiwa lexa
I really liked my Lexa, until it fell apart lol.
Currently use a couple of Catch reels now days.
If I wanted one to do strayline, slow jig and light mechanical jigging, I prefer my JGX2000 lever drag over the baitcasters I have.

Nice Rob. I have to say, mothership trips are the biggest thing I miss about kayak fishing!

I’ve taken my 7X HOOK2 off the stealth before I sold it due to the thing showing the screen like that. Even tried it off the wharf with the transducer on a stick , no better. It’s never worked properly since the first time I used it. Marine Deals have $600 off me for nothing but an expensive box th...

Off the back end of Hainesy's "shell suit comeback" comment... Where is a good place to get some new paddle pants on a budget? Are Rasdax still king, if so where from. I can only find them at Hunting and Fishing but not exactly what I'm after. What other options are out there and where fr...

Thankfully you noticed before you left!
My boat has 6 bungs (not all of which I actually open), so I have to go through and check them all before launching. Water moves through them damn quick

Have a chat with awondering (Kev) who runs K-Labs http://www.klabs.co.nz/ and is a long term supporter and member of this forum
I use one of his softbait rods, and it's my go-to.
